Biotechnology | Monoclonal Antibodies
Rottapharm has formed in 2008 a new biotech company (Rottapharm Biotech), owning a
proprietary technology platform (SPLINT) for the development of recombinant monoclonal antibodies
on any therapeutic target.
Rottapharm Biotech is presently working on R|M targets for the treatment of Osteoarthritis
(both DMOAD and symptom-modifying), in close connection with the discovery and pharmacology
departments of the Group. Two monoclonal antibodies are now under preclinical exploratory
development: CRB0022, a Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) inhibitor for OA pain and chronic pain CRB0016,
with an undisclosed mechanism of action for OA Disease Modification.
