Gynaecology

Rottapharm has an extensive expertise in gynaecology, where it developed the first transdermal matrix patches for Hormone Replacement Therapy in postmenopausal women, and in urology. In the latter, the leukotriene D4 receptor antagonist CR3465 has been shown to possess a unique efficacy in urogenital inflammation models. The compound has completed preclinical development to enter Phase I clinical studies for further development in interstitial cystitis, beside its main application in bronchial asthma.
