Merger between Rotta Research Laboratorium and Rottapharm.
Rotta Research Laboratorium, renamed Rottapharm Spa, is now headquarters of the Group.

Rottapharm-Silesia (Chile), a JV between Rottapharm and the local company Silesia, was set up in Chile. In January 2000 the majority of the voting rights has been acquired by Rottapharm.
